Chickpea Salad

Japanese follows English.

This is a salad of chickpeas, tomato, onion, and canned tuna with lemon olive oil dressing!! I love this salad because it contains two types of proteins, i.e., fish (tuna) and plant (chickpeas) of the three types of proteins I take everyday as a rule, i.e., meat, fish and plant. This means, by cooking something which contains meat, I can eat all the three types of proteins today. So, I've made chicken curry (which also contains chickpeas)!

I bought three bags of chickpeas for disaster preparation. I have emergency foods, like dried or canned foods, but they're not tasty (to me). So, I've been searching for foods whose shelf life is long under normal conditions as "rolling stock," i.e., a stockpile of food you regularly consume and replenish so that emergency food is always available but doesn’t sit around for years.

The idea of rolling stock is popular in Japan, in which earthquakes occur everyday, including the Great Tohoku Earthquake on 11/3/2011.
