Eggplant Steak 丸茄子のステーキ

The diameter is about 10 cm. This is a steak of "ball⚽" eggplant. The eggplant is ball-shaped, so it's called "ball" eggplant in Japan. (I think the ball eggplant is different from the Indian eggplant, which is also ball-shaped.) The steak is so easy to cook!
  • Slice an eggplant 2 cm thick.
  • Score each of the sliced eggplants.
  • Fry them in a pan.
  • While the eggplant is being cooked, make a sauce as follows:
    • Mix miso and mirin (or if unavailable, sugar and water) in a bowl.
    • Heat the mixture in the microwave for ten seconds or so until well mixed.   
  • Put the sauce on the eggplant.

丸茄子のステーキです。作り方は簡単、2センチぐらいの厚さに切って、格子状の切り込みを入れ、焼き、甘みそ(味噌+みりん)をかけるだけ。夏です♬
